...studied Cambodian classical dance under the direction of Sophiline Cheam Shapiro in 2003. Currently pursues a BFA in Filmmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute (film, video, photography, design, performance, and writing). Enjoys putting together screenings of student work and directs the SFAI Asian Performance Series. Projects include "A House, Sitting", a diaristic narrative documenting my house’s layered histories shot in HD and "Reflections of A Tired Art Student", an essay video exploring the way that acculturation (through parents, through teachers, through institutions) is all at once nurturing and violent. Teaches filmmaking at the YMCA Youth Institute, in a program, that gives urban city youth in Long Beach, California the chance to find and create their voices through filmmaking, photography, and design.
