Group Exhibition with the Cambodian artists Chhim Sothy, Svay Ken, Sokuntevy Oeur
(Opening: 24th of January 2008)

The Khmer Rouge Tribunal has rekindled public interest in the darkest chapter in Cambodian history. The five senior leaders of the Khmer Rouge regime have been charged with Crimes against Humanity and are now in custody awaiting trial. This is a perfect opportunity for artists to come together and play their part in confronting the past - and in confronting the past we are also shaping the future.

The exhibition ART OF SURVIVAL brings together 17 Cambodian artists reflecting on the genocide: Svay Ken, Vann Nath, Sokuntevy Ouer, Suos Sodavy, Chhim Sothy, Sukunteak Piteak, Chan Nawath, Chhim Sothy, S oeung Vannara, Hen Sophal, Piteak, Prom Vichet, Suos Soday, Leang Seckon, Vandy Rattana, Yam Sokly, Tith Kanitha, Tith Veasna, Sin Soda and Hiem Ankannitha. International guests: Denis Min-Kim (France), Francis Wittenberger (Israel), Rodney Dickson (USA) and Herbert Mueller (Germany).
