The Fascist Hitler regime nearly wiped out the entire Jewish race, causing turmoil across most of Europe and the whole world. Years later, in Cambodia the Pol Pot regime followed Hitler’s mindset by killing its own people, causing unspoken tragedy in Cambodia and destroying the soul of the nation.

Chhim Sothy studied at the Royal University of Fine Arts, Phnom Penh, where he specialized in Buddhist themes such as the Ramayana, a mythical Hindu epic. His painting reflects traditional sources combined with contemporary elements. His oil works have been exhibited in Thailand, Singapore, USA and France.
