Directed by Anne Gyrithe Bonne, this doc film (2010, 124 minutes, English) gives priority to Aung San Suu Kyi's personal history: her time at Oxford University and marriage to Michael Arris; their domestic life in England; her return to Burma in 1988 when she made her first real commitment to the pro-democracy movement. She was first placed under house arrest a year later. The film explores the profound impact of her detainment on family & friends, providing rare insight into a remarkable woman.
