POETRY SLAM, FORCED MARRIAGES AND CHILD ABUSE IN HOLLYWOOD
4PM: DOCU - LOUDER THAN A BOMB (2011, 100 min) tells the story of four Chicago high school poetry teams as they prepare to compete in the world's largest youth slam. 7PM: DOCU - Co-directed by Lida Chan & Guillaume Suon, RED WEDDING (2011, 52 min) portrays a victim of forced marriage under Khmer Rouge. The combination of vulnerable children and parents dazzled by stardom creates a climate for abuse — often committed by managers, trusted to safeguard the children in their charge.
