MEKONG, PHNOM PENH POST’S PAST, GERMAN-CAMBODIAN DRAMA
 
4PM: DOCU – Shot in five countries, MEKONG: THE MOTHER (2000, 60 min) portrays the Lower Mekong River Basin through its mainly rural population. 7PM: DOCU – Hugh Piper’s THE POST (1999, 55 min) looks at Cambodia through the eyes of a small group of journalists working on “The Phnom Penh Post”. Their contrasting views bring new layers of insight, pathos and sometimes humour to one of the greatest national dramas of our time. 8PM: FEATURE FILM, SET IN CAMBODIA - Based on a true story, SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT (2009, 107 min) revolves around a young German student traveling to Cambodia on a post-graduation summer trip and a 21-year-old bar girl in Phnom Penh.
