SARI SOLDIERS, POL POT ON TV, FIRST DOCU AFTER KHMER ROUGE

4PM: DOCU - SARI SOLDIERS (2008, 92 min) tells an extraordinary story of courageous women who attempt to shape Nepal’s future in the midst of an escalating civil war against Maoist insurgents. 7PM: DOCU - KAMPUCHEA 1978 (30 min) features the only existing TV interview with Khmer-Rouge-leader Pol Pot. 7.30PM: CLASSIC CAMBODIAN DOCU - East German filmmakers were the first reporting crew to get access to Cambodia after the expulsion of the Khmer Rouge. KAMPUCHEA – DEATH & REBIRTH (1980, 90 min) is a mesmeric journey through the completely empty streets of Phnom Penh. Their interviews with the handful of shell-shocked inhabitants was powerful stuff for the time.
