THE FERGUSON UPRISING AND TWO FILMS ABOUT PUNK MUSIC
4PM: DOCU - Told by the activists who live and breathe this movement for justice, WHOSE STREETS? (2017, 90 min) is an unflinching look at the Ferguson uprising. 7PM: PUNK FILM NIGHT – Since the 1970s, Punk rock music has been coalescing into an international movement. Two documentaries look at its origins and how it influenced South-East-Asian youth culture. YANGON CALLING: PUNK IN MYANMAR (2012, 60 min) was filmed without official permits, using hidden cameras. Julien Temple's FILTH AND THE FURY (2000, 108 min) is a complete and completely unabashed look at the rise and fall of the UK punk icons “Sex Pistols”, shot in suitably propulsive punk fashion.
