SOUTH CHINA SEA CRISIS, BERLIN NIGHT FEATURING “CABARET”

4PM: DOCU – John Pilger’s COMING WAR ON CHINA (2016, 110 min) is a persuasively partisan example of old-school investigative journalism about the South-China-Sea crisis. 7PM: BERLIN NIGHT, presented by the Goethe-Institut. Since reunification in 1990, Germany’s capital Berlin has again developed into a thriving, cosmopolitan hub. Tonight’s film CABARET (1972, 116 min) is set in 1930s Berlin. Bob Fosse’s Oscar-Winner shows a city of gaiety and perversion. The context of Germany on the eve of the Nazi ascent to power makes the entire musical into an unforgettable cry of despair. Screening is followed by a DJ PARTY with MARTIN WARLICH mixing techno music (9PM).
