GERMAN REUNIFICATION: ROCKING THE WALL, KARL MARX CITY, CAMBODIANS ABROAD

German reunification took place on October 3, 1990, when East Germany (GDR) was incorporated into West Germany (FRG). To celebrate this historical event, Meta screens a set of docus. 4PM: ROCKING THE WALL (2010 84 minutes) is the story of rock music's part in bringing down the Berlin Wall, featuring the Doors, Quiet Riot, Toto, Vanilla Fudge, plus 'witnesses' from behind the Iron Curtain. 7PM: DOCUS ABOUT CAMBODIANS IN THE GDR, produced and directed by Cambodian filmmakers such as Sao Sopheak. 8PM: KARL MARX CITY (2017 89 Minutes) is a hypnotic work of cinematic autobiography that leverages one woman’s fear to exhume the paranoia that once defined the GDR.
