The First World War (1914-1918) was fought on every ocean and on almost every continent. It was virtually unprecedented in the slaughter, carnage, and destruction it caused. Join us at Meta House to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1, by invitation of the German and French Embassies. 3PM: DOCU “14-18: THE NOISE AND THE FURY” (2009, 100 minutes) tries to explain the inexplicable: how tens of how millions of men could have suffered the unbelievable toughness of life during wartime. 6PM: WW1 STUDENT PAINTING EXHIBITION 7PM: WAR DRAMA - MERRY CHRISTMAS (2006, 120 min) tells the true story of enemies coming together for Christmas in the trenches.
