In January 2005 Nico Mesterharm started to work as a guest lecturer at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodian Communication Institute/Department of Media & Communication). With the help of 19 students Mesterharm directed and produced international tourism advertisement spots for the Cambodian "Ministry of Tourism".
In February 2006 a German business delegation from OAV and the German Ministry of Economical Cooperation (BMZ) visited the Kingdom of Cambodia. Nico Mesterharm produced and directed a short documentary of behalf of ADW (German Business Group) Phnom Penh.
Since January 2007 Nico Mesterharm is working as a media consultant for GTZ (German Corporation for Technical Development) PSP (Private Sector Promotion). Meta Art Cambodia Ltd. is producing 8 short TV features focussing on GTZ PSP projects in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kompong Thom, Battambang, Kandal and Pursat.

Bon Om Touk
The exuberant Bon Om Touk (Water Festival) is an extremely important cultural event in Cambodia and marks the incredible natural spectacle of the reversing flow of the Tonle Sap River. The main attraction is the boat races which is a tradition that dates back to the ninth century. In 2007 a German-Cambodian team (supported by German NGOs GTZ, DED and German Agro Action) entered the competion. Nico Mesterharm (director) and Christoph Waskow (camera) followed the preparations and the races.
